Production Planning

Initial Ideas:

We originally came up with several ideas for our piece, although we changed our mind many times before we came up with our final idea. Here are some of our original ideas that we thought of.

Final Idea:

After many changes we finally decided on an idea which we will be doing. However when we came to film our final piece, we made several changes for many reasons. Because of this, our original story board idea was not followed fully and we ended up changing many ideas on the spot. One example of this is that we didn't want to use the girl in the bathtub because it was very cold and it would not have been safe to put the actress in a bath full of water outside in them low temperatures. Eventually we came up with this idea, and this is our final idea.

Location Planning:

For our location, we chose to use a back garden which had exactly the look that we were looking for. We were fortunate enough to have that available to us. This is the planning for our location with photos of what we would like in our shots.

Movie Title:

Coming up with names for our movie was quite difficult as we wanted something that reflects the story and has relevance to what we see in the opening. We planned out many ideas and compared them with each other and decided on a final name which we felt suited our piece most.

We decided that the name we are going to use for our movie is "Secrets Don't Drown"

Fonts:

We looked at a few fonts which we thought best suited our movie title, "Secrets Don't Drown". These are the main four that we considered using.

We decided that this is the font we would like to use for our title as we think that it fits well with the name and also it has a very spooky feel to it and looks perfect for a horror. It looks as though it has almost been scratched into something rather than written, which gives a very scary look to it. 

These other three fonts, we do like the look of, but we prefer the first one as we feel that it suits our movie best. The other three ideas seem quite calm and a bit more subtle than the one we have chosen as our final font and we like the idea of having quite a harsh and powerful font for the title.

Production Company:

We planned many names for our production company and also looked into some existing companies which we see often. 

We have chosen to go with "Shockwave Productions" as our production company name.

Logo Ideas:

Thinking of ideas for our production company logo was not very hard. I had in mind the kind of image that I wanted the logo to have as soon as we came up with the final name. These are our ideas for the logo:

As you can see, they all look quite similar. This is because I knew what I wanted the logo to look like almost instantly. The only thing that I had to think about was the smaller details. Using Photoshop, I developed these ideas and then we decided that this is the final logo that we wish to use:

We have chosen this logo because we prefer the arrow which is striking the man as the other style of it seems a bit too bulky whereas this one fits fine. Also the human figure that I have used is a lot more realistic and looks more professional than the others. The font of the logo is also a lot more fitting to the company name than the other styles.

Storyboard:

Our storyboard has been changed many times but this is the final storyboard that we followed. Some parts were added after filming. This is because we changed our mind many times about our idea whilst filming, so this is the storyboard of what our piece should look like now we have decided to add changes.

The story board shows the shot that we have filmed and this is the storyboard that we followed as close as we could. However the movie will have extra shots than you can see on the storyboard, the reason they are not included is because we do not know how they will turn out in post production and they may not work so we have chose to leave them out for now.
